Time and where it all goes

Hey guys!

It feels like months since I've last spoken to you and indeed it's been almost that long! How crazy! I'm sorry that I haven't been able to find the time or the content to give to you but I do hope that I can find things to show you and to inspire and interest you and that we can continue to have these little conversations at some point during the weeks to come!

I just wanted to ramble a bit today I guess and I feel like today is a day that just showed me how quickly time can pass. It's not really something that you need to be told really but it's something that we all have to be aware of. This was really brought on and reinforced in my brain by Carrie Hope Fletcher, that wonderful woman and it really is hard to live in such a way that you remember that you do need to tell people how important they are to you because a lot of anything could happen between the next time you see them.

Change is so ever present in our lives and we always seem to forget that things won't stay as they are forever. I think that we can sometimes allude ourselves that because of the length of our relationships with the people around us, they must simply know what we are thinking and the way that we know that they're just there for us whenever we need them. That isn't always healthy in a relationship because it can lead to the other person forgetting their worth and not feeling the positivity from the relationship that they're giving to it.

I've felt that way myself before and I have evaluated myself and the way I feel. I know that one friend I have suffers from severe anxiety and therefore is rarely the one to start a conversation, however, just because I may be the one to start the conversation, doesn't mean we can't stem one from there. I have another friend who I used to be able to have rather lengthy conversations with because we met on a forum website where we'd write each other paragraphs and reply every other day or so because time zones wouldn't permit us to really be able to IM each other. Our convos moved to twitter and it's hard to feel that you're feeling the commitment to the friendship, especially seeing as though there are many reasons the friendship shouldn't work because of the distance.

However, having said that, I know that sometimes I feel like if you do constantly message someone, they might be a bit creeped out and a bit overwhelmed but I guess, back to a post I did about one of Carrie's videos, you've got to say so.

In conclusion, time can lead to relationships becoming strained and to people feeling like the commitment isn't showing through the action of the other, however, that isn't always an adequate excuse for not putting as much effort into a relationship as the other person.

I hope this wasn't too much of a random post but please, as always, please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below and I hope to speak to you soon! God Bless!<3

Putting in The Work

Hey guys! I hope that you're all fine and well and dandy and all those wonderful things!

Right now, I'm in the second week of my A Levels and I feel like because I'm aiming for the highest grades, I'm not yet putting enough effort and putting extra effort into my work and that is quite disturbing because feeling like you might already be putting yourself at a disadvantage before you've even started isn't probably the nicest feeling ever.

However, I do feel like I can get better and that's what's important because let's face it, I'm not even a month into my studies - there's still plenty of time for me to find out what I can do to become a whizzo and then I feel like, though I may end up with even less time than I've already got, I may end up feeling a lot better having done extra work and really becoming familiar with the subjects and the topics that I need to understand.

Moral of this little worry on paper being, if you want to change something about yourself, try and do it sooner rather than later because the later you leave it, the more stress you can end up putting on yourself and the more unhappy you can end up becoming. Now, wish me good luck for organising my time and actually becoming a more happy and content human being! I wish you all the same too!

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post! If you did or didn't, please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below and I hope to speak to you soon!

Dates and their apparent insignificance and yet intrinsic significance

Hey guys!

This subject was something that passed my mind during this past week.

It started with this simple fact; if memory prevails, all of us share our birthdays with a massive 150,000,000 people worldwide. That fact alone is just mind blowing but for me it simply gives me a reason to be happy everyday because every day is someone's birthday and it's a wondrous phenomenon.

It also occured to me that there are dates all the way through history. Every day something or other happened and that in itself is inspirational because of the fact it proves to us that everyday is a day that we can make a change in the world.

I personally feel like we often go through life treating one day the same as the next and this is so easy when we've settled into a routine. We shouldn't feel like weeks go by with no change because everyday is a day to cherish and everyday is stupendously different.

Once we appreciate that, life can become so much more interesting :D

Happy Birthday to you if it's your birthday today! I hope that you guys enjoyed this post! Please do leave your thoughts in the comments below and all the best for the week ahead! I hope to speak to you soon!

P.s. if you guys have any topics that you'd like me to offer my opinion on like a thought provoking post or video, I'm open to suggestions!

'Stand Up Straight' - Thoughts Provoked by Charlie

Hey guys!

Some time in the past week, Charlie McDonnell (aka charlieissocoollike on YouTube) released a video called 'Stand Up Straight' which I loved because of the way he talked about his thoughts. He talked about how being told to straighten up his back and not slouch by his Mum, which he did, admittedly ten years later, actually was helping him feel more confident as well as buying more shoes that didn't get holes in them in the same place in every pair that he'd bought ever since he realised how quickly he could take them on and off. In essence, it was a video about change.

His amazing point in this video was that if his 16 year old self could see him actually falling towards fashion and doing what his mum said rather than letting his inner grungy personality show through his slouch, he would've flipped and probably have turned to wearing a bin bag. The point is, we all change and despite the fact it feels like what we think now is what we'll always think, that's definitely not necessarily true.

He challenges you and I in turn, challenge you, to write down something that you don't ever think you'll change thinking and put it in a safe place. Then look back at it in five years or ten years and see if you've changed. Chances are you, will have done and it's a part of life that we can't stop or anything, but it's often change that causes us the most discomfort because we always want things to stay the same because we're not prepared to lose the happiness that we've gained from the routine of how things have been for us.

I personally do feel this way sometimes but I think it's very important for all of us to be able to embrace change so that we can find a new way to be happy again rather than clinging to the old way because chances are it's probably not going to happen again and may not even have been as good as you remember it now.

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post! As always, leave your thoughts in the comments below and I will speak to you soon!

The Oddity of the Concept of Time

Hey guys! I hope that you're all fine and dandy and well!

It struck me one day that time is a very odd concept and the way that it drives us and what we do and how our lives run is phenomenal. Like, for example, the fact that with time you can become better at something and how, as kids, we're not just smaller versions of our adult selves but we're incredibly inexperienced and unequipped for the world that's out there and what it demands of the world's population.

It does also occur to me sometimes that it feels odd thinking that our race of organism is both very animal like in the way that everything works inside us, we eat, we poo, our bodies have the same organs as pretty much any other mammal which means that we all need the same sort of machinery, if you like, inside us to help us work and yet the fact that we're so, so different in the way that we work and think sometimes, in comparison to other animals is just mind blowing.

I hope that you guys liked this post! It's definitely considerably shorter than my normal posts but I hope that it was short and sweet :) Do feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below!

I hope that you guys have a wonderful weekend and I'll speak to you on Monday!

(If you guys hadn't realised just yet, I've managed to get into the habit of posting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays so do feel free to keep your eyes peeled for the posts as they come! :) )

Connor Franta, Changes, Identity

Hello guys! I hope that you're all well!

So on Monday, all of you O2L/Connor Franta fans will know that Connor released his last video for O2L onto YouTube. For me, I think it affected me more than I thought it would despite the fact Connor was the main person I personally would watch on O2L. The reason I thought it would affect me less was because the other guys are still absolutely phenomenal people and I'm sure they'll go on fine without Connor but I think the main thing that struck me hard was just how raw and just plain sad Connor appeared in the video.
I think it just goes to prove that we really don't see enough of a person to get to know them.

For me, the one thing I wanted to take from this and present to you guys was the fact that, of course, change is inevitable but the point I wanted to make was that you don't have to be tied down to something. You don't have to have something define you as a person. You're still yourself even if you're not affiliated to that thing and you're still you, an amazing person without your YouTube addiction or your music taste, or in Connor's case, being a member of O2L.

Point being, we all change in who we are and that is ultimately inevitable but who you choose to become and how you decide to go forward is what will define you for who you are, not necessarily what people see of you but what you think of and see for yourself :)

I just wanted to add before I close, it's important for all YouTube fans to accept change though I think for many of us it is probably harder than any other change we have to experience simply because of the fact we get used to seeing the same persona for months and even years straight. When that changes, it can be the weirdest most odd experience and I think that's what really shook me seeing Connor's video yesterday.

If you want to see the video, click here. For those who don't know Connor, his videos are awesome and he'll still be posting on this main channel which you can find here!

I hope that you have a wonderful day and week and all and I'll speak to you soon!

New Beginnings, Change, A Topic Stretched Beyond Recognition.

Hello guys!

This post was inspired by a few things.
a) the fact that I have technically finished High School, having finished my GCSE's and will
b) be going into Sixth Form to do my A-Levels in September.
c) Also this video by thisbedottie who is Patty Walters' girl friend :)

On Tuesday and Wednesday last week, I have my two day induction into Sixth Form which for many of the people my age is something that's quite an experience for a number of reasons! For one, you experience an A-Level lesson for each of the 4 subjects that you have chosen to take next year. This can be quite nerve racking because you sometimes have to go to a different school for some of your lessons which can then lead to you not knowing whether you're going to settle well or even like the subject anymore. Not knowing anyone in a new school can really lead you to hate a subject that you once loved and despite the fact I'm 'lucky' enough to not have any lessons based in another school, I've friends who both love and hate the new experience.

For me, it was an awesome yet slightly daunting experience. I found out that two of the subjects for which I was anticipating tiny classes actually turned out to be quite big classes, one being French which turned out to be full of people I don't know. However, the other lessons were pretty gosh dang awesome and I'm really looking forward to taking them next year. I did enjoy French (just to clear that up) and I'm also taking Biology, Chemistry, History and Maths. Those of you who are calculating people will realise that yes, that means I am anticipating taking not four but five AS Levels next year. Hence the anticipation. And the nerves. And the what-on-earth-have-I-got-myself-in-for-four-is-hard-enough feeling.

Before I go onto the second part of what I wanted to say, I wanted to say that Sixth Form is awesome otherwise. I'm so looking forward to meeting the new people in my classes and making new friends as well as enjoying the new responsibilities and liberties that being in Year 12 gives you as a student.

Here comes the second part to which the video links to. I am incredibly afraid that I'm not going to be able to cope and to do well in the subjects I have taken. Many a knowledgeable person has informed me that in order to fulfill my dreams of becoming a Doctor, Maths is unfortunately probably my best bet but when I was told this, I already had my heart set on doing History and French too, hence five was born. The video really helped me to see how other people see their worries and it made me think about how I want to change myself and to improve the way that I work to make sure that I can cope with what I want to do and what that'll mean for me and the way things have worked with me thus far.

So, in conclusion, I am determined to survive the next year, come what may, and it's always a relief to know that you're not the only one to have doubts about yourself and your abilities. This video by Bertie Gilbert also explores how you can change negativity in your mind into something positive (like his awesome new short film 'Tick Where it Hurts')

I'll speak to you guys soon!
